Prefold diapers are rectangular
in shape and divided into three sections lengthwise.
Prefolds are commonly referred to by the number
of layers in each section: 2x6x2, 4x6x4 or,
4x8x4. The two outer sections are generally
four layers of thickness, with only two layers
for a preemie prefold. The middle section is
generally six layers, or eight for a toddler
diaper.
The sides of the prefold
diaper are folded inward and onto the middle
section to create a slimmer rectangle and then
placed in a cover. The front of the diaper,
when placed on your child, can be folded down
to fit into the cover. When using a diaper
cover there is no need for pins or other fasteners.

Everybody loves
this soft prefold! These prefolds have a generous
fit and many families use the standard size
from birth the potty training. For toddlers
and heavy wetters use a doubler for
extra absorbency. Although these diapers work
great with both the Bummis and Bumkins, I would
recommend the Bummis due to the larger sizing
of the cover. The Unbleached diaper is thicker
that other diapers carried and you may need
to use a cover that is one size larger.

The features of the Organic
Cotton prefold are essentially the same as
the Unbleached Cotton prefold as the absorbency
is identical. There are two differences between
the two diapers. The Organic Cotton is thinner
than the Unbleached and the Organic Cotton
is certified organic fiber. Meaning that in
every step of the process, from garden to manufacturing
facility, the fiber was kept clear of those
nasty, unhealthy chemicals! And it’s
a great diaper at a great price. For those
